Through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the Division of Energy has designed a new Energy Assessment Tool to assist users in performing common energy audit measurements, calculations and evaluate potential savings associated with energy efficiency upgrades in their buildings. The assessment tool will provide commercial and industrial facilities with the opportunity to identify and analyze the potential savings and cost effectiveness of implementing energy efficiency projects.
The tool is a self-contained application developed in MS Excel that reads site specific information entered by the user. The tool then allows the user to conduct an analysis of the benefits associated with implementing common energy conservation projects by focusing on the following systems:
- Lighting and sensors.
- Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Vending Machines.
- Compressors, pumps and motors.
- Air Leaks.
- Steam Traps.
